HELP!? I need help installing bitdefefender antivirus?

i just went out amnd bought a new antivirus software for my computer and am having trouble downloading it. when the cd was put in it didnt automatically open. i had to go through my computer to open it. and when i click install something pops up for a minute and then it closes the whole thing. what the hell is going on? can someone help please?

maybe the cd is defective.

try to download it from website directly http://www.bitdefender.com/site/Download... and use product key/serial that came with the cd.

or call the shop to replace the defective cd.

Also check if any other antivirus problem is installed. uninstall it before installing bitdefender. Also check if bitdefender is xp or vista based or can be used on both.
maybe your computer is old or your running an old Windows. or maybe it apple software (vice versa) ibm/apple dont go together.
BitDefender is part of the Vista OS, if you're using Vista, chances are it's conflicting with the pre-installed version.

You could always try a program such as NIS2008, which I feel does a better job, (though it is resource hungry, it does do it's job well), which would not interfere with BitDefender.
I am not exactly sure what your specific problem is , but please ignore the BS from Scott Bull above^. Bit Defender does NOT come pre-installed with Vista. What comes pre-installed with Vista is an anti-spyware called Windows Defender. Windows Defender will have no effect on your ability to install your Bit Defender anti-virus.
