Where can I get Free genuine anti-virus software download?

The antivirus software I had in the past like Norton did little to prevent viruses from infecting my computer. Can you please tell me where to get good, reliable and free antivirus protection ?

You can try downloading at tucows.com or download.com. Some of their freeware stuff is pretty good. As far as name brands, more than likely downloading for free would be illegal unless you are using a free trial from the manufacturer's website.

if u want a gud anti-virus software i recommend NOD32. I hav been using it for some time now (after having used Norton) and one thing u notice is tht it doesn't slow down ur PC at all. It has detected plenty of viruses which Nortan cudn't. overall - the best virus guard out there.

But if u r looking for something free then AVG is probably the best option. Gud Luck!

AVG was good %26 used to be free download, I heard that was no longer so...... not sure. I liked it %26 had it on my mom's computer.
