Among the free antivirus softwares available for PC's which is better?

I use AVG and have been very happy with it. It's recommended by computer guru, Kim Kommando. I replaced my Norton's with it, because the Nortons (which is a paid for program) had become such a utilities hog and was really slowing my cxomputer down. AVG updates fast and is thorough.

Norton Anti Virus is Number 1. Don't go any other route-trust me on it. Check a few sites-do some research.

avast home edition. its got the best shields and updates fast and automatically. i recommend this above avg free but avg free is good too. you could have both if you know how to prevent them from attacking their quarintines. anyways those two are the best free.
AVG Free is the best. I ditched Norton because too many nasties were slipping through, and I found Avast too cumbersome to use. I've used AVG Free for 2 years, and nothing has got through. It even pops up warning messages while surfing the net.

Do NOT use any free antivirus software (like norton). They are 3rd party software that is not very good. I have McAfee and whenever i use their instant messager to talk to a worker they say to remove Norton, spybot, and all other sites like those because they are from 3rd party sites and can help add spyware, melware, trojans, and viruses.
