My computer is stuck due to the loading of two antivirus softwares. How do I get my pc unstuck?

The pc freezes up as soon as I boot up the computer and will not allow me to get in the control panel to remove one of the programs.

I have already tried the following fix which I found on a pc website:

Boot into Safe Mode, click Start, click Run, type msconfig in the text box, and click OK. Click the Startup tab and look in the Startup Item list for entries that relate to Symantec, Norton, or McAfee. Click the boxes next to these entries to remove the check marks, click Apply, and then click OK. Reboot your computer so that it starts normally, and Windows shouldn't lock up anymore

The above did not work so I'm back frozen mode again. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

My guess is, your not unchecking all the necessary boxes. Try unchecking all the boxes and try it again. Hopefully it starts and you can remove those programs. When that's done go back to msconfig and recheck the boxes you need.

I did similar mistake couple of years ago. Whatever I tried, did not help. Finally, my drive crashed and partition was damaged. I tried to recover it with HDD Regenerator, but unsuccessfully. So, I booted up the PC through Windows XPE disk, renamed all the program all the folders on my hard drive, and just reinstalled the operation system from the beginning at the new partition. After that I logged at the new OS and dragged all the needed information from the renamed folders. Definitely, all the programs should be re-installed, but nothing has been lost.
Boot up in the Safe Mode.... Go to Start / Settings / Control Panel / Add - Remove Programs. UNinstall one of the anti-virus programs. Reboot as normal and all should work ok. Good Luck
you should not have two antivirus software running at same time,

keep one and remove the other
try pressin Ctrl+Alt+Delete at da same time and when a window pops up saying windows task manager highlight the program if its still loading and press end task at the botttom
