Antivirus system?

other than norton, which is a very good antivirus protection software? please recommend ones that you've used and are happy with.

i have windows vista, and my norton 60-day trial just expired, and to renew it it's 50 dollars. i've had norton, but it slowed down my other computer...so i'm looking for something else. i need something that will still offer a lot of protection though, cuz i do a lot of surfing and what-not. details, please, thanks!

I have Macafee Antivirus. I bought it for only $20 when it came with my computer. It is pretty good.
do what i used to do, i erase the whole norton free trial from my computer then re-download the program with a different email address...

Instead of dumping Norton you can update the virus definintions manually from here,
