What is the best software to use to block pop adds?

i use spyware doctor which is good at scanning for infections but does not prevent ads from popping up. its driving me crazy having to close the window. can you please help me? what are you recommendations and what do you use. i also recently purchased norton antivirus 2007 but that doesnt seem to be working either.

Spyware doctor is for removing spyware. I use the Google toolbar, and like it better than the Yahoo toolbar. It seems to do a better job of stopping, or at least slowing down popup ads.

you didnt mention which browser you are using

if you r using firefox, pop up blocker is in built and you just have to configure it

if it is IE then better download yahoo or google toolbar
